Day trips from Biweda:

Mkuze Game Reserve – 20km – We offer privately guided trips in our safari vehicle with a specialized birding guide for our birding and photographic enthusiast to Mkuze Game Reserve and Pongola Game Reserve. With the main focus of these trips on birds and photography as there are over 400 Bird species found in this area, Mkuze Game reserve is world renowned for its Birding, newly renovated hides as well as its guided fig forest walk on swing bridges through the tree tops. A truly iconic experience in a Big 5 Game Reserve which is right on our doorstep just 20km drive.


St Lucia – 120km – We also offer day trips to our world heritage site St Lucia for guests where they will enjoy the experience of a boat cruise in the estuary to see the famous hippos which waddle through the town. Followed by a cultural tour through Veyane Village with a traditional meal cooked and shared with the local villagers.


Hluhluwe Imfolozi Game Reserve – 65km – day trip where guests will be shuttled to the reserve where they can choose to be in an open safari vehicle or closed air-conditioned vehicle. After an extensive drive through the famous Big 5 Reserve, guests will end with a lunch at the iconic Hilltop camp where guests can enjoy a delicious meal with incredible views over the reserve.


Tembe Elephant Park – 100km – day trip where guests will be shuttled to the reserve where they will then go on a game drive with a local guide from the reserve on their open safari vehicle. Guests will be treated to intimate encounters with some of the largest elephants in Africa.


Turtle Tours at Sodwana Bay – 135km – Turtle season is from November to May. Guests will be shuttled to Sodwana Bay which is 135km drive where guests will be met by an honorary wildlife officer with Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife who will give guests an informative talk on the environment and sea turtles. The tours are conducted on an open game drive viewer which drives along the beach and guests are then able to get off and walk up to nesting or hatching turtles. This is a once in a lifetime experience enabling guests to get up close to view this extraordinary event of loggerhead or leatherback turtles laying eggs or hatchlings scurrying down the beach to the water.
